DANCE IN ART, DESIGNED BY ALICE
Alice spent a decade performing as a professional ballet dancer, working with some of the most prstigious dance companies, directors and choreographers of our time.
In 2010 she founded her dance-wear line, DESIGNED BY ALICE, with a range of ballet skirts that uniquely blended this dancing experience with her eye for design.
Based in London, DESIGNED BY ALICE now creates silk scarves, accessories and ballet skirts that can be seen on stages around the world. Seasonal collections are inspired by the natural world and produced ethically for conscious consumers.
For Alice, movement is a universally accessible form of self-expression. Throughout her career, she has mixed dance with design, photography and film as means of capturing and sharing this love of human form.
Alice’s versatility has given her the opportunity to work as a multi-disciplinary artist, bringing thoughtful research, innovative vision and skilful presentation to a range of projects.
She began 2020 as Artist in Residence at Harvard University’s ArtLab with collaborator Dr Merritt Moore, exploring the possibility of a human and robot pas de deux.
Her photography has been published in Vogue Italia and she has directed films for the Southbank Centre, created communication campaigns for Freed of London, and designed for Jellycat toys.
