Happy Easter Weekend!
I have been excited about sharing the next lovely DBA Featured Dancer with you, the stunning Tina Pereira, First Soloist with National Ballet of Canada.
When and where did you start dancing?~ I started my training at a local dance studio called The Dance Factory, when I was 5. I then made the leap to The National Ballet School when I was 12.
....So have you always wanted to dance?~ I fell in love with every kind of dance from ballet, jazz, tap, and acro from my very first lessons! It was only after watching performances of full length story ballets that I knew I wanted to be a ballerina.
If You weren’t a dancer what would you be?!Now there is a loaded question! Hehe. I am actually a certified wedding planner, I would love to design my own clothes and ballet wear, and I also love taking acting lessons, and would love to explore acting. Basically, any project that involves using my extreme creativity, and making the world more beautiful is what inspires me and makes me most passionate to work.
...with such a busy schedule what do you do to relax? A good nights sleep is a must for me. I love to go home to my family's home on the weekends and spend time with my loved ones. Also, blogging, reading, and watching Mad Men and Modern Family also seem to keep my busy body still.
Favourite music? I am truly all over the place on this one, but I can never seem to tire of Alicia keys, and Adele.
...and books or films?I love The Alchemist, The Catcher in the Rye, and The Time Traveler's Wife. Movies would be Moulin Rouge, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Love Actually, and The Emperors New Groove.
..hobby ?Learning to sew, and learning to speak spanish!
Tell as something we don’t know about you?! My first name is actually Elizabeth but ironically, most of my friends call me Sparkle.
Career highlight thus far?Dancing Lise in La Fille Mal Gardee, and winning The Erik Bruhn Competition.
What’s on the cards for next season? I am excited to tour to London, and to dance Carmen again.
